Trade Support Assistant (Export East Med & North Africa) Full time, Permanent We have an exciting opportunity for a Trade Support Assistant to join our Export East Med & North Africa trade team in Ipswich. This role will include regular communication with Geneva Liners and other MSC offices, providing operational, regulatory, and commercial support as well as statistical analysis as and when required. There will also be close communication with customer service and operational teams to direct and manage cargo feeding to European and global ports to ensure customers are kept fully informed as well as handling of daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Initially this will be a data, reporting and process driven role with the opportunity to develop and improve processes both within the team as well as potentially the wider organisation and will give someone the opportunity to achieve an in-depth understanding of the business for someone who wants to help develop, strengthen, influence, and grow a trade in line with HQ strategies. A high level of experience within Microsoft Office is also an essential part of this role due to extensive use in different day to day tasks. How you will help us and what you can expect Typical contribution includes handling any pricing enquiries that come through to the team and ensuring we are competitive in line with the current market. You’ll be looking after your own customers and will be responsible for finding solutions or directing them to the relevant internal department to assist to further develop business. Core responsibilities would include: Active desire to assist in the winning of new business and meet targets, exploring all opportunities to increase volume by developing closer customer relationships where required by Sales and Trade. Develop new and existing business from pricing enquiries, securing new bookings with a target driven approach. Actively follow up quotations using all communication channels until bookings are achieved and new repeat business is fully secured Proactively retaining and growing accounts, including any research and development required, mindful of contribution towards overall revenue targets. Ensure quotations are processed in a timely, accurate manner. Strong communication and liaison across the Commercial teams and the wider business, particularly MSC Geneva, to ensure full commercial and operational support is given the Trade.
