Science Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Levenshulme Teaching Personnel is seeking a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Levenshulme. This is a full-time position starting immediately and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance. Role Overview This role is ideal for a recent science graduate looking to gain practical classroom experience, particularly those considering a career in teaching, tutoring, or educational support. The successful candidate will work closely with students and teachers to enhance learning in science, supporting students across biology, chemistry, and physics. Key Responsibilities: Providing one-to-one and small group support to students who require additional assistance in science subjects. Assisting teachers in planning and delivering engaging science lessons, ensuring students understand key concepts. Helping to prepare and set up science experiments and practical demonstrations. Supporting students with exam preparation, coursework, and revision techniques. Encouraging students to develop an enthusiasm for STEM subjects and scientific inquiry. Working closely with the science department and SENCO to provide targeted interventions for students who may need extra support. Assisting with classroom behaviour management and promoting a positive learning environment. Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers to help inform lesson planning and support strategies. Candidate Requirements: A degree in a science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field – 2:2 or above preferred). A strong passion for science education and student development. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain scientific concepts clearly. A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting students with different learning needs. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, classroom support) is desirable but not essential. Salary & Benefits: Weekly pay between £419.25 - £500, depending on experience and responsibilities.
