Duties:
1. Performs double-entry accrual accounting work to maintain journals and ledgers. Ensures all deposits from activities are received. Counts balances, and consolidates cash, negotiable instruments, and credit card receipts. Transports deposits to a military banking facility.
2. Operates computerized systems to input accounting data. Resolves discrepancies by applying Air Force regulations and cash management procedures.
3. Maintains the central change fund for squadron cash requirements. Balances the fund daily and tracks all purchases.
4. Serves as the focal point for cash/credit card deposits. Prepares reports, worksheets, and ledgers on accounts and payroll.

A person is considered to be 'ordinarily resident' if they have resided in the United Kingdom (UK) for more than 366 days without an affiliation to the US Visiting Forces. Dual US/UK citizens may apply for US NAF positions if they have a valid US passport.
Qualifying Experience (MUST BE SUPPORTED IN YOUR RESUME):
* Must have experience in double-entry accounting procedures and techniques.
* Must have knowledge of procedures used to enter, modify, and delete information in an automated general ledger system.
* Must have experience analyzing the interrelationships of accounts affected by varied transactions.
Education:
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
Additional information:
* Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
* U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
* All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit.
* Probationary period may be required.
