An excellent opportunity has arisen for a System Design Integrator to join the Defence Mature Programs product portfolio of Combat, Transport and Naval products within the ET&S capability in Bristol.
As the System Design Integrator you will be responsible for problem resolution, defining requirements; designing and integrating products, performing technical analysis; verifying products, physical & functional systems and components throughout the product lifecycle for the Naval MT30 and WR21 Engines.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. It's a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we're all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.
What you will be doing:
1. Apply understanding of gas turbine product operation, product systems, sub-systems and interactions. Integrate and manage interfaces.
2. Design of systems using Systems Engineering principles including the use of Robust Design tools & techniques to achieve optimum solutions at product and sub-system level.
3. Problem resolution including ownership of, for example: root cause investigations, problem reports, Red Tops, Safety Alert Reports (SARs), Quality Concerns, Major Quality Investigations (MQIs), Drawing Alteration Requests (DARs).
4. Planning and management of product change, design technical approval and technical investigations.

To be successful in this role you will need:
1. Bachelor's degree or Master's in Engineering or regional equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience.
2. Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and have an understanding of cross-discipline engineering concepts which include but are not limited to manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis, cost engineering and product definition.
3. An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parameters.
4. Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and certification frameworks.
5. Good communication, presentation skills and an ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
