About the role
Siltbuster is looking for a dynamic and experienced Technical Sales Engineer to support our Municipal Wastewater Treatment Sector operations in the Midlands. The successful sector Sales Engineer will maintain and build relationships with both new and old customers whilst promoting and developing our brand and reputation as an industry leader. This role works remotely but not in isolation; it is part of a wider team of Sales Engineers with a wealth of experience that they are happy to share. The role additionally has the support of an excellent back-office team. Travel and occasional stays away from home are a regular part of the job.
The role requires proven, extensive experience of scoping and delivering multiple projects from initial conception and prospecting to order close-out and handover.
Reporting to the Municipal Sales Manager, the initial key responsibilities will include:
1. Driving the sales process from initial contact through to order, delivery, and project closeout.
2. Achieving sales targets and delivering exceptional customer service.
3. Delivering and supporting projects across a variety of levels.
4. Working collaboratively with the technical solutions and design teams.
5. Troubleshooting for clients and ensuring fast and effective solutions are found.
6. Managing and developing key relationships within the selected Water Companies, focusing on account growth and long-term relationship building.
7. Collaborating with company-wide cross-functional teams to assess opportunity feasibility, optimizing potential options, and creating tailored solutions that meet client needs.
8. Staying informed about industry trends, market activities, and competitors to identify new business opportunities.
9. Learning cross-departmental specific skills and activities as applicable.

About you
We are seeking candidates who are passionate about making a difference in the water-environmental sector, with a practical and positive outlook. Proven experience within the UK Municipal Sector is highly preferred, in addition to sales management, preferably within the technical or engineering sectors to the water industry.
You will have a strong commercial acumen and know-how of the sales lifecycle from conception to delivery. You will also have a demonstrated ability to manage and grow large accounts, with a focus on long-term client relationships & key account management.
Willingness and ability to travel to support your customers with their requirements and maintain key relationships is paramount.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
1. Demonstrated experience in technical sales.
2. Ability to create tailored solutions to suit the customers' requirements.
3. Outstanding planning and organizing skills, with the ability to ensure efficient and effective daily time management.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
5. Excellent analysis, data interpretation, and technical skills to identify project/client needs.
6. An extensive understanding of the key elements associated with wastewater treatment and applicable design standards is preferential.
7. Competent in the use of Office 365, notably Excel and Word.
8. Full UK driving licence preferential.
