Pupil Support Officer - Fixed term until 26/6/2025

Salary: £28,046 - £32,010 (pro-rata for sessional)
Hours: 36 per week, 39 weeks sessional
\n
Castleview is looking for committed professional to play a key role in holistically supporting the well being, inclusion and attainment of our children. They will not only support assessment and planning but will build positive relationships and directly work with of our children and their families.
\n
The post holder will be involved in managing and tracking data to direct support and relevant interventions. They will make links and work closely with all wider agencies and professionals to promote and support the wellbeing of children and families. The successful candidate will have knowledge and/or experience in delivering literacy supports such as Read Write Inc and using evidence based strategies to support inclusion such as the Visual Support Project.

Castleview is situated in an area of positive action and all our staff must be confident in managing distressed behaviours and learning issues.

The school team is dedicated to increasing the life chances of our school family and as a result the expectations are high for all team members, including confidence in supporting Outdoor Learning experiences as we see this as a key strategy to support inclusion, to raise attainment for all and to improve the health and wellbeing of our pupils.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
