We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a leading engineering and manufacturing company at their site based in Buxton, High Peak.
This role involves maintaining high-speed semi-automated equipment used in the production of components for the automotive industry.

1. £31,227 - £41,000 per year
2. Rotating shifts
3. 6:00am - 2:00pm / 2:00pm - 10:00pm / 10:00pm - 6:00am
4. Overtime available (paid at enhanced rate)
5. 28 days holiday
What will you be doing as a Maintenance Fitter?
1. Performing routine maintenance on high-speed semi-automated equipment
2. Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues
3. Repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency
4. Conducting preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment operates at optimal levels
5. Collaborating with production teams to schedule maintenance activities that minimise disruption to production schedules
6. Documenting maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance tasks
7. Maintaining a clean and organised work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained
8. Adhering to safety protocols and regulations
9. Participating in training programs to stay updated on new technologies and maintenance techniques
10. Assisting in the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and protocols to improve equipment performance and reliability
What do you need?
1. A mechanical/technical background
2. Competence with maintaining automated pneumatic and cam-driven assembly equipment
3. Experienced in operating in a busy manufacturing environment
4. Strong problem-solving skills
5. A basic level of computer literacy
6. NVQ Level 3 qualified or equivalent (desirable)
7. Time served as an apprentice (desirable)
