What is the opportunity?
You will be responsible for managing and delivering valuation and risk calculation projects across all asset classes to implement new products, strategically improve the risk reporting environment and support global regulations implementation. The role requires interaction with Sales and Trading, Quants, Business Management, Risk, Finance and their supporting Technology teams.
The Royal Bank of Canada is a global Bank, and the projects and programs you are managing are delivered across 4 regions (New York, Toronto, London and Hong Kong) requiring the candidate to be comfortable with working with remote teams in different time zones.
This role reports to the Head of Core Quant Programs and Projects within the FO Quantitative Analytics team in Quantitative Technology Services.
What will you do?
* Deliver front office front-to-back change projects with a significant quantitative and technology elements, taking responsibility for the delivery of projects and manage to successful completion
* Manage and partner with Quants and their Technology partners to ensure delivery on time and within budget including structuring projects and the governance, and actively managing relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation
* Support the delivery of new products, attending New Business Committee and speaking authoritatively about the impact of changes made
* Work closely with Model Validation to ensure changes are coordinated, validated and signed-off before release into production
* Assist in the development of an improved project management culture and reporting within Front Office
* Support the Royal Bank of Canada Quantitative Technology strategy by providing insight in delivery, architecture and solutions.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
* Previous experience of Capital Markets/Investment Banking
* Successful Project Management across Business and/or IT across the entire delivery lifecycle
* Leadership and relationship management – the take responsibility of issues, and to drive through to resolution
* A solid understanding of Derivatives, the products and an appreciation of how they are valued and traded and be comfortable with various risk measures and what they mean
* Comfortable in working in a fast paced changing environment
Nice-to-have
* A comprehensive understanding of Foreign Exchange and Equity Derivative Markets, including products and market making practices
* Management of project budgets and finance
* Engagement of external vendors
