The Rack Group Ltd is searching for a motivated and ambitious candidate, who is looking for a new career opportunity, to join our team as a Storage Equipment Engineer. The role involves working within a team of engineers, travelling the UK, to complete installations and maintenance of industrial storage equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate at the beginning of their career offering career progression for the right candidate.
The role of a Storage Equipment Engineer will be to work within a small team of engineers, to complete scheduled installation and maintenance works. The company has a nationwide customer portfolio, leading to our engineers travelling the UK to complete works as required. The role will be predominately working away from home, with accommodation and stop out allowance provided.
An engineer will assist and support the Supervisor on site where necessary, to include the preparation of job paperwork, ensuring all relevant RAMS and necessary safety checks are adhered to. As part of their role, an engineer will complete on site learning, to build on skills and knowledge whilst pursuing personal development.
Capabilities in problem solving and effective communication are key for this role and will allow those working relationships to grow.
Responsibilities:
* Build, repair and maintain industrial storage equipment on site as requested by Supervisor and detailed in job pack.
* Assist and support the Supervisor on site where necessary, including the preparation and completion of job paperwork.
* Ensure all relevant RAMS are read, understood and adhered to along with all other health and safety rules.
* Ensure all necessary safety checks are completed prior to work commencing, to include but not limited to, PPE and work/access equipment.
* Timely communicate variations of work to enable accurate costing and approval from the project delivery department.
* Carry out on site learning to build on skills and knowledge of the industry to pursue personal development.
* Maintain company tools and equipment, reporting any issues to your Supervisor or project delivery team.
* Always thinking of our customer when carrying out duties and ensuring the ‘customer experience’ of purchasing goods and services from the company to induce repeat order potential.
* Availability to work at our customers convenience this could be days, nights, or 7 days a week. Any work that is outside the usual hours of work will be discussed and offered to team members prior to booking.
* Working at height and manual handling are a significant part of this role.

Education/Qualifications
Essential
* Good standard of general education backed by a track record of continuing professional development.
* Full UK driving license (or working towards).
* CSCS Card
* CITB Health, Safety & Awareness Certificate
* Asbestos Awareness qualification

* Basic knowledge and understanding of the design specifications affecting the safe use of industrial storage equipment.
* Knowledge of H&S regulations relevant to the industrial storage equipment industry, to include risk assessments and method statements.

* 40 hours per week- Monday to Friday
* Salary £25k - £27k per annum
