West Midlands Safari Park
Closing date for applications is: 2nd Apr 2025
Work pattern: Includes weekends, bank holidays and some evenings.
West Midlands Safari Park is currently recruiting for an Animal Keeper in our Ungulates section. This is an exciting opportunity for applicants who can demonstrate the ability and knowledge to work with our extensive range of Ungulate species managed in a drive-through system. The position involves husbandry tasks, such as feeding, cleaning, health monitoring, and enclosure maintenance delivered to a high standard. The role includes monitoring guests in our drive-through reserves and delivering keeper talks.
About you
The role requires someone who is confident, motivated, and enthusiastic about wildlife conservation, with excellent communication skills. The successful applicant will have good wildlife knowledge and an animal-related qualification to HND level or above. Ideally, we are looking for someone with previous experience in a similar role. It is a physically demanding but rewarding position.
You will need to be flexible in your approach to working outside of standard business hours, including weekends, bank holidays, and evenings. Due to driving in animal restricted areas, we require someone who has a full, valid driving licence.
Benefits
As well as benefiting from working in a unique and beautiful setting, you’ll also receive a range of additional perks to employment, including:
1. WMSP Annual Pass which gives you and your family and friends free admission and theme park wristbands, as well as free entry to our sister site, Drayton Manor Park.
2. 35% Discount in our retail and catering outlets and off-park special events.
3. 24 Hour access to an online doctor and access to online prescriptions.
4. Counselling access.
