Description Vessel Planner – P&T – SOU About the Role DP World Southampton are on the lookout for a dynamic and detail-oriented Vessel Planner to join our team. How you will contribute Full Planning privileges responsible for all vessel calls. Plan the discharge and load sequences of ships to minimize port stay with the resources available. Take into account ships stability, crane clearance, hazardous cargo and terminal layout to achieve maximum productivity in liaison with Stowage Coordinator and in accordance with the Company standards, policies and procedures. Downloading Baplies. Make amendments to the stow at the pre-plan stage and after the stowage coordinator/chief officer has reviewed. Be the first point of contact for Vessel Command, visiting the vessel on arrival with the stowage plan for approved prior to loading and making adjustments as required. Produce relevant paperwork & PDF’s. Plan Late or Held units in a late stow to give as much time as possible to arrive or clear. Remain flexible with late & held containers ensuring we ship as many as possible. Answer queries from Vessel Command, Agencies, Shipping Lines, Government Authorities etc. Ensure Vessels working alongside at any time are being worked to their optimum, keeping cranes balanced as required, working the heavy area and ensuring most efficient completion time. Arrive and depart vessels correctly. Produce administrative reports accurately to complete statistical records. Gain a full understanding of Navis Ship Editor and Cargoes TOS and be responsible for building new vessel classes (NSD files). What you will bring Proficient in Navis N4, XPS, (advantageous) MS Word and MS Excel (essential). Previous experience in vessel planning, logistics, or a related field is highly desirable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure. Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in planning and execution. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with various stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a positive working environment. Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
