Looking for a rewarding kitchen role in a friendly, community-focused café Our clients are a beloved independent spot known for exceptional food, warm hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere. They are searching for a passionate Chef / Cook to lead their kitchen team, ensuring every dish is made with care and consistency.
Salary: £12.60 to £14.50 depending on experience for a 40 hour week, weekend work included but it is traditionally only 09:00 to 16:00
Your Role
As our client's Chef / Cook, you’ll oversee the daily kitchen operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and a great dining experience for every customer. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading & inspiring a small, dedicated kitchen team.
Cooking & plating high-quality dishes with attention to presentation and consistency.
Managing stock & orders to ensure a well-organised kitchen.
Maintaining food safety & hygiene standards to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
Contributing to menu development with fresh ideas and seasonal specials.
What They’re Looking For
At least 2 years of kitchen experience in a café, bistro, or similar environment.
Level 2 Food Hygiene certification (Level 3 preferred).
Strong organisational and leadership skills to manage a small team effectively.
A passion for great food and a commitment to high standards.
A positive, proactive attitude – someone who loves working with people and takes pride in what they do.
