Job Overview:
Haskins Furniture are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Sales Manager to join our team. As a General Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading and motivating a sales team to achieve targets and drive revenue growth. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed company goals.
* Manage and lead a team of sales assistants, providing guidance, coaching, and support.
* Set sales targets and monitor performance against KPIs
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
* Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and customer needs.
* Prepare sales reports for management review
* Collaborate with company wide teams to ensure effective customer service, deliveries, product launches, promotions and online activity.
* Organising the transport of stock to and from the warehouse.
* Displaying products to ensure the customers journey is exceptional.
* Ticketing and presenting POS on the showroom floors
* Security of Haskins Retail Park, key holder with the expectation to unlock and lock up when at work.
* Covering departments as and when needed.
* Producing rotas and scheduling staff
* Support sales team with customers, discounts, queries ect
* Ensuring resources are always up to date, for example, swatches and spec sheets.
* Keeping records of time sheets and annual leave
* Selling furniture in busy periods
This position requires weekends on a rota and bank holidays. The employee will be required to unlock and lock the store.
Skills:
- Proven experience in sales management or a similar role
-Must have the ability to sell high ticket items with a proven track record.
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal)
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build rapport and maintain long-term relationships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to present ideas and information clearly and confidently
