When working within the respiratory team, the post holder will work predominantly within critical care treating acutely unwell patients, often with complex rehabilitation needs. To be responsible for managing own caseload of patients following critical care stay with appropriate handover to ward staff, monitoring progress and discharge plans. Review and monitor physiotherapy assistant respiratory competencies, providing training as required. To support the rehabilitation team across all wards as needed, including assessing, treating and managing complex cases as required. To work without direct supervision. Supervision will take the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions and one to one sessions with supervisor. Access to advice and support from senior respiratory and rehabilitation physiotherapists is available when required, but clinical work is not routinely evaluated. To chair team meetings, planning staffing and workloads.
