This full-time position begins in January and continues through to the end of the academic year, with the potential to become a permanent role depending on performance. About the Role: This position is ideal for a Psychology graduate who is considering a career in education, mental health, or youth development. As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential in a supportive and structured environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional challenges. Use your knowledge of psychology to understand and respond to student needs, developing tailored strategies for their success. Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to adapt lessons and materials to meet individual student requirements. Monitor and report on student progress, contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting confidence and engagement. Assist students in developing essential skills such as resilience, communication, and emotional regulation. Provide support during non-classroom activities, such as break and lunch, encouraging social interaction and confidence. What We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate will: Hold a degree in Psychology or a related field. Demonstrate a keen interest in working with young people and supporting their development. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff. Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable to a variety of situations. Be proactive and collaborative, working effectively as part of a team. Be available full-time from January through to the end of the academic year. Previous experience in a similar role or working with young people is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
