DevOps & Virtualisation Project Lead
Location: Bristol
Salary: £60,000 to £70,000 – Dependant on experience

We’re working with an award-winning, world-leading, technical & scientific engineering organisation, with sites across Europe, that has an exciting opportunity for a technically minded Software Project Leader with a history of deploying both Virtualised and Containerised systems, to join a small talented team to develop systems for the next generation of advanced military systems.
Responsibilities:
1. Planning and bid estimating, allocating work, tracking progress, working with supplier teams to define system requirements, and resolving current issues.
2. Involvement in all aspects of the development, integration, delivery into service and service support.
3. Working with cutting edge technologies across a range of land and maritime defence projects.
4. Leading research and development into how virtualisation and containerisation can be used in current and future products.
Experience required:
1. A passion for software engineering and management, with the ability to innovate and think critically to solve complex software problems.
2. Software engineering experience with Virtualisation & Containerisation technologies – VMware, and Docker.
3. Adaptable and creative, combining technical team leadership, project management, and team building aspects.
4. Experience developing in Python and other languages.
5. Experience with DevOps and/or DevSecOps.
6. Experience working in a continuous integration environment and familiarity with build processes and tools such as Jenkins and GitLab.
7. Knowledge of networking, TCP/IP, and experience working with Linux, scripting languages, and Hypervisors.
8. Comfortable working with a team in a collaborative environment, communicating and contributing to design and implementation decisions.
9. Ability to succinctly document working knowledge and processes via Wiki (Confluence).
