Job Summary/Purpose
To provide engineering support at all stages of the development process, from initial viability advice to full design packages, gaining technical consents and providing advice to all other departments and selected contractors during construction. Undertake engineering design directly or assess and appraise consultant's designs for suitability and to ensure the designs are the most cost effective, compliant with legislation and practical. Commission and manage consultants, for civil and structural designs, ensuring all information is available and competent for use in tendering, production and in the procurement of technical consents. Liaising with NHBC to ensure all appropriate standards pre-construction have been met, and throughout the project ensuring all conditional items are concluded satisfactorily.

Competently implement CDM/EMS, identifying foreseeable risk in designs and taking action to design risk out, in line with company policy.
Discharge the Designers responsibilities under CDM regulations.
Fully understand the CDM/EMS regulations and demonstrate a working knowledge of how these should be incorporated into designs.
Ensure CDM/EMS site start processes and site close out procedures are followed and recorded.
