Sue Ross Recruitment are working with a local, well established conservation social enterprise in the recruitment of a Project Manager. The successful candidate for this role will ideally have a background in the Environmetal Sector.
As Project Manager you will report to the Operations Manager and have line management responsibilities for staff within the delivery team. As Project Manager will work closely with clients and sub-contractors, as well as with community and special interest groups and other stakeholders, as required. Project Managers are responsible for safe, timely and commercial management of a portfolio of water projects, varied projects and frameworks within Yorkshire, East Midlands, Lincolnshire, Greater Manchester and the surrounding area (and elsewhere with agreement).
Duties & Responsibilities include
* Project Management - Management of allocated projects and frameworks for the Environment Agency, local authorities, riparian landowners, developers, and others. Project Management tasks will include but not limited to - programme management, producing risk assessments, method statements and construction phase plans. Co-ordinating resources (personnel, materials, equipment) to maintain programme. Supporting the site teams through regular site visits & audits.
* Project Administration - Working with Cloud-based sales and project management system, managing opportunities, individual project financial transactions, and programme & financial performance of your projects. Providing weekly reports, with any issues openly raised so they can be addressed.
* Line management - Responsible for delivery staff assigned to your projects - approving holidays, staff development, training requirements, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company procedures & standards.
* Management of staff and subcontractors - Ensuring that adequate provision of information, instruction, training, competence, supervision, and any other resources to enable the team to carry out their duties safely and efficiently.
* Business Development - Proactively seeking new opportunities and responding to new enquiries from existing clients, ensuring all variations are captured through the live projects. Advising Business Development Manager of future opportunities.
* Build & Maintain relationships – Working with key commissioners, partners, and stakeholders at various levels, including the Environment Agency, local authorities, riparian landowners, partnerships, community groups and subcontractors.
Key skills
* Maintenance and knowledge of OHSAS 18001 - certified health and safety management, ISO 14001-certified environmental management and ISO 9001-certified quality management systems
