There is an opportunity for the right candidate to work in our Oncology Critical Care Unit at The Christie Withington Site. To provide administration, clerical and data support to the team in the Oncology Critical Care Unit Clinical Support and Specialist Surgery (CSSS), ensuring daily and quarterly data is accurately captured in relation to the ICNARC national audit. To ensure a high standard of administration and data duties are maintained and deadlines are met within this busy department. To maintain a high standard of service within the department.
Main duties of the job
The Administration Assistant is responsible for ensuring the accurate input and validation of ICNARC audit data, supporting national compliance requirements. The role involves managing patient bookings, handling telephone and email inquiries professionally, and assisting with departmental reports and audits.
Additional duties include coordinating meetings, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate records to support the efficient functioning of the unit. The post holder will work closely with medical and administrative teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations while adhering to risk management, confidentiality, and data protection policies.

Job responsibilities
Administration
* To liaise with medical staff on Oncology Critical Care Unit to ensure daily ICNARC audit data is inputted into our mediCUS bridging system and submitted quarterly to the case mix programme (CMP).
* Produce adhoc reports at the request of medical staff for audit purposes for the department of Anaesthesia & Critical Care.
* Receiving telephone calls/enquiries/emails and dealing with them in a professional, efficient manner.
* Ordering stationery and paper supplies on NHS Supplies for Oncology Critical Care Unit CCU Typing up actions notes for the OCCU Multi-Disciplinary Team.
Clerical
* Booking/Rearranging/Cancelling OCCU beds NHS and Private Patients where required.
* Organising all arrangements (pre and post) for the Advanced Life Support Course and supporting Acute Oncology Outreach nursing team.
* Coding onto the Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre module for all activity in CCU.
* Running off Levels of Care Reports from ICNARC.
Data Validation/Recording
* Validating and correcting data on Metavision and sending out a monthly report on errors or omissions. Working with the OCCU staff to correct any errors.
* Validating and cleansing the Hospital Discharges on ICNARC.
* Recording activity data for CQUINS on OCCU delayed discharges and AKI assessments.
* Recording levels of Care data for all Private Patients.
* Producing a monthly OCCU activity report from Metavision clinical system.
Additional Duties
* To provide daily support to the Inpatient directorate Matrons and service lead as and when required.
* To provide cross cover across the ATS Directorate where required.
* To take action notes and minutes at departmental meetings as and when required.
