We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Nurse Manager for our highly specialised community Dermatology service.
The Clinical Team Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day functioning of a very busy dermatology service, ensuring that clinical work is being delivered to a high standard. They will be responsible for ensuring that the team's pathways are managed, that staff are adequately trained, supervised, and work to the British Association of Dermatology standards. They will work with the senior team on service redesign and facilitate change to ensure that services develop as needed and continue to meet the needs and safety of patients.
Main Duties of the Job
The Clinical Team Manager will line manage the dermatology team and lead the clinical team to ensure continual quality improvement and clinical governance. They will provide a high level of clinical knowledge and experience to help inform clinical decisions for the patients. They will supervise and supportively manage staff, enable recruitment of staff, manage sickness absence, be involved in service development projects, participate in clinical governance and MDT meetings, manage complaints, and work closely with other partners. They will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to promote a culture of compassionate, high-quality care and successful outcomes for patients.
Job Responsibilities
1. To be accountable for the overall management and development of the team/service, deployment and supervision of staff, and ensuring the coordination of services provided, optimising the cost-effective use of all resources.
2. Line management of the team, with overall accountability and responsibility for the delivery of all aspects of patient/client care through the provision of effective clinical and managerial leadership.
3. To lead, motivate, and support the team approach to delivering new and innovative models of care for patients/clients.
4. To lead a continuously improving service, by ensuring systems are in place to support clinical governance, quality monitoring, and ongoing research and audit of practice.
5. Ensure systems and processes are in place to maintain patient safety.
6. Facilitate the development of clinical expertise and advanced clinical practice within the team.
7. To provide direct clinical care and work autonomously, assessing individual patient/client needs, initiating investigations, determining a plan of care, and initiating appropriate holistic, research-based health information and care.
8. To act as a resource for all members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, providing expert advice concerning aspects of patient/client management.
9. To be responsible for ensuring that agreed professional standards are reflected in practice and to have overall responsibility for monitoring the standard of care.
10. To improve the patient/client journey by increasing access to assessment and appropriate care and treatment.
11. Work collaboratively with Multi-Disciplinary Teams to ensure practice is efficient, effective, evidence-based, and safe.

* Significant experience as a specialist or senior clinician in either a community or acute or out-patient setting.

* Minor surgery skills and experience.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse.
* Degree Level Training.
* Teaching qualification or Practice Assessor.
* Advanced/Specialist post-registration qualification, specific to Dermatology.
* Prescribing qualification specific to clinical role.
* Masters in health/leadership related subject.
