Job Title: HGV Technician Team Leader Location: Stockton Shift Pattern : 4 On, 4 Off -Nights Suttons Tankers are an innovative national tanker haulage business and we are looking for an HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician / HGV Fitter Team Leader to join our team based in Stockton garage, working a 4 On, 4 Off night shift pattern. This is a permanent position. The Role: The HGV Technician Team Leader will primarily have a hands on role managing the HGV Technician Team along with completing HGV Technician tasks: Effective line management of team Performance (time) Quality (MOT and first-time repair) Second opinion Productivity of shift vs standard job times Assign and manage work to team on shift and self Update workshop controller with progress Respond to and action unplanned maintenance requirements Organisation & control of breakdowns/ third party breakdown agents. Out of office hours: Update traffic planners on progress Organise suppliers as required Effective handover between shifts MOT final inspections Checking and signing off inspection sheets on completion. Store control (issuing & ordering parts) Make decisions on fleet VOR, lock off vehicles not fit for use VOR locks Complete designated Safety Plan activities Be able to manage HGV Technician and team leader duties along with health and safety Any other reasonable requests made by the Workshop Supervisor workshop controller and workshop co Ordinator Involvement in Health and safety activities within the workshop safety plan Skills and Competencies: Legislation on vehicle roadworthiness/ MOT and active management of such Strong commitment and understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace Shows determination and tenacity to do what is needed to achieve the desired result Driven by a desire to produce work of the highest quality Ability to work to tight deadlines within a high pressure, customer and cost focused environment Self-structured and highly organized Requirements: Qualified Vehicle Technician HGV and trailer maintenance and repair Tanker Experience - preferred but not essential LGV License - preferred but not essential ADR License - preferred but not essential Salary & Benefits: A successful candidate will be working an average of 42 hours per week, on a 4 on 4 off, 12 hour shift pattern. Your hourly rate will be £23.84, which means your annual salary will be £52,066.56 - this is a average salary depending on hours worked.
