Fife Council is seeking a dynamic and innovative Consultant Engineer to join our Flooding, Shoreline, and Harbours team within Structural Services. This is your chance to make a significant impact by integrating cutting-edge solutions into our operations.
About the role:
As the Consultant Engineer, you will:
1. Develop and Implement: Effective flood prevention, shoreline management and harbour functions.
2. Drive Digital Integration: Utilize advanced technologies for hydraulic flood and coastal studies.
3. Manage Procurement and Maintenance: Oversee water, coastal, and maritime structures.
4. Lead Maintenance Programmes: Oversee the development of design and construction programmes, ensuring budget adherence and effective control.
5. Implement Harbour Authority Duties: Incorporate digital solutions for asset inspection, maintenance, and operation.
6. Coastal Change Adaptation Plan: Contribute to the development of of the CCAP.

The Person
10. Education: Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (SCQF level 10) or equivalent.
11. Chartered Status: With a relevant professional body (MICE / MCHIT / MIStructE / MCIWEM).
12. Leadership: Proven ability to lead, promoting a positive culture in the workplace.
13. Communication: Strong skills and the ability to manage conflicting demands effectively.
14. Knowledge: Civil engineering specifications, contract management, and health and safety legislation.
15. Experience: Preparing and managing project plans and programmes, with a focus on digital integration.
We are currently shaping our future workstyles however, in light of current advice, we are introducing blended home/office working that will include office access days each week with homeworking for the remainder of your working time.
