This international law firm has an outstanding reputation built on its advice in some of the most complex and high-value disputes in the market. Its Cayman-based team frequently collaborates with colleagues overseas, focusing on cross-border commercial and insolvency disputes, often relating to the banking and financial services sector. This is a demanding role that will encompass every stage of a dispute up to and including trial work, and it will suit someone who is technically strong with outstanding client communication skills, and who has the confidence and experience to take a lead in pressurised situations. In return, you will benefit from some wonderful professional exposure whilst enjoying a Caribbean lifestyle in your downtime.
The Cayman Islands
A world-class international financial centre, Grand Cayman offers lawyers the opportunity to do high-quality and complex work that compares favourably with that in a leading onshore law firm. Outside of work, the climate lends itself to an outdoors lifestyle whether that be diving, sailing, relaxing on the beach or enjoying a bite to eat at a waterfront restaurant. Life here is good; rarely does anyone regret making the move.
Process
Interviews will take place by videoconference with start dates typically around 4-6 months later (depending on your notice period). Our clients provide comprehensive assistance with visas and relocation.
Package
Highly attractive tax-free salary dependent on experience. Comprehensive benefits, bonus, and relocation package (flights + temporary accommodation on arrival + expenses allowance)
Requirements
To secure a work permit for the Cayman Islands you will need to be admitted as a Barrister or Solicitor in the UK or an equivalent Commonwealth jurisdiction (such as Australia, New Zealand or Canada). This role is expected to suit someone with at least 5 years’ relevant PQE of highly complex international litigation, gained with a major onshore or offshore law firm. Cayman experience would be valuable but is not essential.
