We are looking for a Catering Assistant to assist in the production of food, delivering a high-quality catering service to University staff, students and visitors. You will assist with the daily preparation of food required for the standard menus, daily specials and recipes, maintaining the required standard of food production whilst ensuring compliance with all aspects of health, safety and hygiene standards and the adherence to relevant legislation. You will need to be enthusiastic and demonstrate passion towards menu development and the progression of our catering offer and remain calm and efficient, even in times of extreme pressure. You must be flexible regarding hours and approach to work and be prepared to work in any of our catering outlets to ensure our high standards are maintained campus wide. As a Catering Assistant you can expect to be involved in : Maintain the cleanliness of work surfaces, equipment, cutlery, crockery, utensils, floors, storage areas and the surrounding environment. Maintain safe working practices as instructed in induction and training. Temperature check food and fridges/freezers and record the results in the designated paperwork. Maintain high standards of service delivery with a professional approach.
