We are looking for an experienced and expert cardiac rehabilitation professional to lead the service based at Addenbrooke's hospital for a period of 1 year to cover maternity leave.
Working across both secondary care and community sites you will lead this experienced team in delivering high quality comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation programmes. The service has NACR accreditation at green and is research active currently recruiting for the REACH HFpEF trial.
As the lead you will be expected to continue developing all aspects of the rehabilitation service. You will work closely with the Cardiovascular Risk Management Service who form an integral part of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation provision within the Trust.
You will be an advocate for both the service and the wider aims of cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation locally and regionally.
Main duties of the job
1. The post holder will coordinate an effective cardiac rehabilitation service for all eligible patients, encouraging independence by developing and delivering programmes designed to sustain life changes following a cardiac event through exercise, education, and counselling.
2. Responsible for implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care encompassing new treatments and evidence-based care.
3. In collaboration with consultant cardiologists, patients, and colleagues in the commissioning sector, evaluate, improve, and extend the service needs as appropriate.
4. Provide required cardiac rehabilitation data at local and national level.
5. Required to undertake research and lead clinical audits in own specialist area.

Qualifications
* Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist educated to Degree level or willingness to undertake.
* Relevant experience within cardiac rehabilitation.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* Advanced communication skills/counselling qualification or willingness to undertake.
* Current professional registration (NMC or HCPC).
* Research Module.
* Masters Degree.
Experience
* Significant relevant experience in the Specialty and ability to demonstrate expert skills.
