Description Wincanton is looking for an operational HR/People Advisor for our Argos Distribution Centre site in Kettering. The People Team at this large site supports around 140 colleagues. You will work within this small, busy team to provide a professional service covering all aspects of employee relations, the colleague lifecycle, recruitment, engagement and D&I initiatives. We are looking for an experienced People Advisor with employee relations experience. This role is based at the Kettering site (there is on-site parking and a canteen). CIPD study support available, if required. How will you contribute? Providing high quality advice and generalist HR support across the site Manage a busy employee employee caseload, advising on legislative and company policy and procedures in an efficient manner Develop effective on-going relationships at all levels establishing yourself as a credible, respected and valued People Advisor, responding to queries directly and influencing Managers to follow a best practice approach Assist departmental Managers on the interpretation and implementation of company policies and procedures as well as local agreements Support the delivery of the People agenda for the year, making adjustments where required to suit the business Compile and analyse management information/data Assist in the coaching, mentoring and development of the management team Line management of HR Assistant What will you bring? Proven HR experience in similar fast paced and busy role Proven and demonstrable skills in providing pragmatic, tailored HR advice Experience of employee relations and supporting managers with these issues Competent knowledge of UK employment law Must have excellent organisational skills and initiative, with the ability to manage the day-to-day HR processes effectively Excellent IT skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint including HR databases Excellent interpersonal skills Flexibility with hours to meet needs of operation Passionate about developing and supporting colleagues to fulfil their potential This role comes with study support if required, to continue or start CIPD.
