Ensure customer satisfaction with Husky through effectively managing the customer and the product, from taking the initial order to resolving quality issues after delivery. Success in ensuring customer satisfaction will be measured upon ability to provide on-time shipments and ensure quality of the product. The project engineer also acts as the customer liaison, ensuring that they are pleased with all aspects of our service and product.
Key Responsibilities/Areas of Accountability:
* Manage communication flow between customer, sales organization, commercial management, engineering, operations, and services.
* Screen and coordinate pre-sale application, product inquiries, and prepare quotes for potential projects.
* Work directly with customers and regional counterparts to secure necessary project information, ensuring that orders are technically accurate, priced appropriately, and properly documented to meet the customer’s and Husky’s expectations.
* Act as lead project engineer for the customer order, establishing the overall schedule and delivery dates of each of the line items on the order.
* Attend and facilitate the kick-off meeting, ensuring that milestone commitments for the design and the production of the machine are documented. Follow up on open issues from the kick-off meeting.
* Prepare, issue, coordinate, and evaluate the impact of order changes, address potential concerns and provide solutions, and ensure that original production schedule deadlines are met.
* Ensure technical, commercial, and project milestone data are properly documented.
* Follow up on open issues, and maintain and communicate regular, up-to-date knowledge of project status.
* Provide start-up support for customers, document, and ensure timely resolution of any quality issues that may arise during start-up.
* Ensure that the customer’s expectations are exceeded in all areas; do what it takes to ensure that the customer is pleased with the equipment and service from Husky.
* Ensure all issues regarding the order are resolved before it leaves Husky.
* Support the operation on various initiatives as directed by the Team Leader.
Qualifications:
* Degree/diploma in Engineering preferred.
* Minimum 2 to 5 years of project management/engineering/product development in an industrial manufacturing environment.
* Minimum 2 to 3 years Sales/direct customer support experience.
* Customer-focused mindset.
* Demonstrated project management, organizational, and leadership skills.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Strong negotiation, facilitation, and conflict management skills.
* Ability to work effectively with team members and customers under pressure.
* Knowledge in plastic injection molding technology (including application, design, manufacturing, and serviceability).
* Computer literate/proficient (Microsoft Office, Baan, and BaanLN software).
* Willing to travel and provide after office hour support occasionally.
* Strong technical and commercial aptitude.
* Self-starter, patient, quick learner, and detail-oriented.
* Some financial experience (understanding of cost structure, etc.).
* Ability to read and understand contracts.
* Capacity to follow guidelines, think methodically/analytically, and exercise judgment in decision making.
* Comprehensive knowledge of Husky’s historical product line and component standards is an advantage.
