Closing Date 01/11/2024 Job Title: Infrastructure Programmes Delivery Manager Location: Flexible- Sussex, Kent, Hampshire or Kent- Driving licence is essential due to regular site visits Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 37, Monday to Friday Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum plus £400 per month car allowance An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a new role within the Clean Water Network and Demand team for an Infrastructure Programmes Delivery Manager. This role will lead all network large asset maintenance and improvement across all Southern Water’s regions (Hants, Sussex, Kent and IoW). Including projects such as mains flushing, pressure management and trunk main inspections and maintenance. Reporting to our Head of Water Networks & Customer, you will be the asset owner for all our large assets on the water network responsible for identifying risks, making sure mitigations are put in place and sponsoring capital funding where required. You will have an opportunity to shape and creating your team and work towards delivering the near- and medium-term maintenance plan and strategy across water networks, as you will be responsible for ensuring all water processed by Southern Water is available to over 2.6 million customers. Your line management responsibility will cover both field based expert inspectors, engineers and office based project managers who will coordinate key ODI performance outcome projects including leakage, water quality and supply interruption. As part of our AMP8 commitment to prioritise network maintenance schemes across all counties, you will have a unique opportunity to implement a step change within the cost, quality and time. Being an effective communicator, you will have greater visibility and working in collaboration with senior leaders within the asset management and capital delivery teams with your confident approach. With your proven track record of financial control, you will be managing around £3M budget using intelligent investment and being analytical and technically focused approach in making decisions on capital expenditure by looking at the risks and balance this against the cost. Your key accountabilities would include: Building a technical excellence team to manage the project delivery of key ODI linked schemes. Developing programmes of work Balance demands and expectations of team, people, resources, compliance, efficiency, quality of the asset and demands from other parts of the business in identifying solutions to problems Using your judgement, knowledge and experience to make urgent decisions sometimes where you do not have access to all of the information about a given situation Expected to manage change effectively engaging with staff to ensure any changes are smoothly implemented with the required level of consultation Implementing and sharing best practice findings within Southern Water and assessing performance against other businesses Work with Asset Management to ensure that the right capex and opex asset improvement plans are in place Working with external stakeholders such as the Environment Agency, Local Authorities, British Standards Institute, Drinking Water Inspectorate liaising regarding performance, audits, issues, pollutions and WQ events. To be successful in this role, it will be highly advantageous if you have technical expertise in water networks management within the water industry or other utilities industry, with strong knowledge of network process and good exposure of delivering programmes within the cost, time and quality. Commercial acumen and with good understanding of financial management, you will be a great leader empowering your team in leading a key capital investment which forms a major part of Southern Water’s infrastructure. You will be resilient and dynamic working under pressure as you will be expected to respond urgently to events as they happen on the water network. This role requires you to be part of our Out of Hours incident management rota on a standby, 1 week every 8 weeks, managing the water network incident. Interested, why not apply
