Role Purpose:
To understand trends, customers’ needs and deliver effective and engaging marketing communication through Social Media, in line with business objectives and strategy.
The primary objective is to drive awareness for Superdrug and acquire new customers through Social Media that results in an increased level of engagement and loyalty online. Aimed to ultimately drive traffic and sales to Superdrug.com, the role will also help build commerce capability in social platforms as a long-term objective.
A typical day in this role includes:
1. Leading and managing the social media strategy for Superdrug main social channels and local store pages including, but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tiktok and Snapchat.
2. Creating the content strategy for Superdrug main social channels in line with commercial and business objectives while keeping a close eye on social media trends.
3. Monitoring and regularly reporting social media performance through a combination of social media listening tools and other internal social tools.
4. Providing guidance to stores social channels and producing bespoke content.
5. Leading social marketing projects within the business, supporting seasonal or brand campaigns, and working with online media channels and influencers.
6. Conducting industry research, trend spotting, and developing emerging social communication channels.
7. Managing Social media competition strategy and coordination with legal, CRM and Superdrug.com teams.
8. Supporting all commercial categories across channels by focusing on business strategy while creating engaging content.
9. Collaborating with the Own Brand & Exclusive team to develop marketing communications.
10. Managing, reviewing and challenging the performance of external agencies against agreed KPIs.
11. Coordinating with Superdrug stakeholders and presenting to Senior management.
12. Working with suppliers on joint social media events to maximize presence.
13. Line management of the Social Media Marketing Assistant, Executive, and Social Media Apprentice.
14. Managing budget, costs, and income for all Social Media platforms.
15. Exploring and building commerce capabilities within existing social media platforms.

What you’ll need:
1. Significant experience in social media marketing within a fast-paced retail environment.
2. A very good understanding of social media principles (organic as a minimum and paid is a plus).
3. Hands-on experience in any creative field with experience in content creation and management.
4. Experience and/or understanding of commercial goals and strategies.
5. Good understanding of social media trends in health and wellbeing.
6. Experience in managing a team.
7. Experience in handling multiple projects.
8. Strong analytical skills.
9. Ability to influence at all levels.
10. Strong interpersonal skills.
11. Excellent attention to detail.
12. Excellent communication skills: written and verbal, including presentations.
