The Role The company is looking for an individual to join the IT team, with the focus of driving continual improvements to its IT systems and processes. They must be able to get under-the-skin of the IT environment, to identify and discuss stakeholder requirements and then translate these into required development work to be performed by their team. Additionally, the individual will work alongside our external IT support company, who help to manage our security, infrastructure and phone systems. They should also keep the company up to date with new and relevant IT solutions. You may have been a software developer in the past and are looking to progress into a broader IT role, or an IT manager of an SME with software development experience. Responsibilities - Project management and timely delivery of IT projects from initiation to completion, providing regular updates to management on progress: o Scoping of projects through discussion with various stakeholders of the business. o Documenting required design work. o Formulation of project plans and direction of required development work. o Ensuring that adequate testing is performed and that feedback is acted on. o Final implementation and monitoring. - Communication with the management team on IT related matters. - Mentoring, coaching and development of a team of 2-3 individuals, including a software developer. - Maintenance of our SAP Business One ERP system. - Establishing and managing IT budgets to ensure cost control on IT spend. - Assessing and purchasing new and replacement hardware. - Testing, troubleshooting and adjusting information systems to operate effectively. - Management of IT Licensing requirements. - Monitoring and maintaining IT assets and information security. Requirements Essential - Experience of managing software related IT tasks and projects. - Ability to prioritise, investigate and resolve IT related issues. - Ability to adapt to changing business needs. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Enthusiasm and passion for IT.
