An exciting opportunity has become available for a registered nurse within the Colchester Essex Sexual Health Services.
The successful applicant will plan, implement and deliver high quality individualised nursing care to the clients attending the Essex Sexual Health Services and will support senior nursing colleagues in the running of the department.
The post will be full time (37.5 hours per week) working within the opening hours of ESHS, which will include some evenings and occasional weekend work.
Main duties of the job
You will have the opportunity to develop and enhance your clinical expertise and innovative practice within the field of integrated sexual health care.
Training opportunities are fully supported and will be provided with the expectation that you will be competent and confident in the provision of frontline clinical care, sexually transmitted infection results and data management, and specific targeted health interventions.
You will be working within a specialist clinical team in a positive learning environment which will enable the development of skills to provide contraceptive intervention and protocol guided sexually transmitted and reproductive tract infection management.

Person Specification
Experience
* Safeguarding knowledge and experience of assessment
* Previous experience in or currently working in specialty of integrated sexual health or related service
* Appreciation/experience in counselling skills
* Understanding of risk management issues including incident reporting
Knowledge
* Professional interest in the field of Integrated Sexual Health
* Willingness to develop STI results management skills
Qualifications
* NMC Level 1 Registered Nurse
* Documented evidence of further study/training
* A recognised contraception qualification or currently working towards
