Are you a Healthcare Assistant with experience of working within Doctor Surgeries, Urgent Treatment Centres or a Hospital setting and looking for a new position?
If so, this may be the role for you!
We are looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join us to help cover upcoming Maternity Leave as of May this year, in our practice based in the vibrant Brighton area.
Although this is initially covering Maternity Leave, we may be able to offer this position permanently at the end of the contract.
We are looking for someone to work Part Time covering 24 hours a week and this also may include weekends. We can be flexible if you are looking slightly more or less hours and open for discussion around this.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, strictly following policy and procedures. There will be an expectation due to the nature of general practice that a degree of flexibility will be required and that other tasks or roles may be delegated to the post holder, in line with their abilities and knowledge as dictated by the needs of the service.
What you'll be doing
Working under the supervision of the clinical team, you would assist the practice and service clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
You will be conducting new patient health checks and ECGs on a regular basis. As well as this, there would be administering of various injections - including the flu jabs and B12 boosters - and wound dressing. These duties would also include the management of stock, laboratory samples and vaccines.
A key part of the role is your relationship with patients, and as such you would be able to discuss health problems with them, offering advice for dietary needs, smoking and alcohol. Using this information, you would be able to assist in assessment of their wellbeing and promoting health awareness. You would also be available as a chaperone, should a patient request it.
All of the above would also involve accurate data input, maintaining medical records and undertaking administration. There will be an expectation due to the nature of general practice that a degree of flexibility will be required & that other tasks or roles may be delegated to you, in line with their abilities & knowledge as dictated by the needs of the service.
Training would be provided in various areas to expand your responsibilities, making this role a great development opportunity.
What we'll look for in you
You will be an experienced Healthcare Assistant with either a Level 2 or Level 3 Health & Social Care NQV11/NVQ3 or equivalent.
You will be confident in working with the public, providing necessary advice and chaperoning duties as required. You will also be at ease with conducting ECGs and blood pressure monitoring. You will also be comfortable with New Patient Checks and NHS health checks as required. Experience in minor surgery procedures and diabetes/glucose testing would be beneficial but not essential, as training can be provided.
