Your New Role - Warehouse Manager
Your duties and responsibilities will be as follows:
* Plan, direct & maintain an efficient warehouse operation.
* Ensure warehouse operations maintain best practice Health & Safety legislative compliance.
* Ensure the efficient utilization of all warehouse space and mechanical handling equipment, ensuring quality, budgetary targets, and environmental objectives are met.
* Work to ensure warehouse labour targets are achieved as per budget requirements.
* Direct the receipt, inspection, storage, order assembly, and distribution of stock to our customers & suppliers.
* Consult with managers and supervisors to implement initiatives designed to improve the efficiency and level of service to our suppliers and customers.
* Evaluate and recommend changes in staffing, organizational structure, hours of operation, and other operational efficiencies to improve service levels.
* Organize and manage outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of items.
* Administer, supervise, and participate in inventory control assigned to inbound stock personnel, minimize stock loss and best before dates.
* Develop, direct, and recommend the implementation of policies, procedures, and schedules relative to the handling of stock and the maintenance of records.
* Evaluate the efficiency of existing equipment and make recommendations regarding the replacement of equipment and the design and layout of warehouse facilities in order to maximize handling efficiency and meet future technological warehouse needs.
* Develop and implement security control procedures for warehouse operations.
* Evaluate the work performance of subordinate staff and control the selection, orientation, retention, training, and discipline of personnel.
What you will need to succeed
* Relevant warehouse, import, and export logistics experience (approximately 2 years or more).
* Ability to provide outstanding customer service.
* Hold a current forklift license.
* Warehouse Manager experience.
* Ability to develop and train the workforce, build relationships, and utilize the skills of the workforce most appropriately.
* Ability to manage Warehouse operations effectively.
* Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to maintain records and documentation pertaining to the workforce.
* Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner, and listen attentively to others, understand the material, and provide instructions to all employees.
* Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
* Demonstrated teamwork skills and experience communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
* Demonstrated punctual attendance and flexibility to work outside normal office hours as required.
* Experience planning, prioritizing and working safely to meet tight deadlines with a minimum of supervision.
