Hours of Work (Seasonal Shift): Monday – Sunday, 5 days or 4 days, 07:00 – 17:45 or 07:00 – 18:15 depending on shift. Attendance hours from 1 September to 31 May (+10 days refresher training every August) Salary: £35,609.60 plus £6,000 shift premium per annum
As a self-motivated Airframe Structure Technician, you will be using your experience in aircraft maintenance to complete all maintenance activities, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in response to our customers’ requirements.
The Role:
You will have responsibility for assisting Engineers with supervising, mentoring and delegating resources as the situation demands, to ensure the smooth running of the operation, whilst meeting the Part 145 maintenance requirements, our internal processes and procedures and our Customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Putting safety and quality first, you will ensure adherence to Health & Safety procedures whilst carrying out aircraft maintenance within the limits of our Company approvals. Whilst upholding the highest level of engineering standards and practices, you will assist in driving the team to deliver defect rectification & investigation, repair, overhaul and modifications.
You will uphold our values & culture and mentor those under your supervision.
Main Responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out maintenance of aircraft avionics and electrical systems, including system fault finding and functional testing as defined by customer requirements/list of work.
* Working in accordance with company procedures, giving due consideration to Human Factors philosophy, using only correctly maintained and uniquely identified personal tooling, company tooling and calibrated test equipment.
* Managing internal and external relationships with customers, team members and support departments, taking an active role to mentor colleagues.
* Ensuring correct completion of all maintenance paperwork and forms in a timely manner before the end of the shift and in accordance with all aspects of the MOE Part 2 and company procedures.
* Informing Engineers of any adverse issues affecting safety, productivity and progression of work.
* Ensuring any unused material is correctly processed and returned to Stores when practicable, following correct disposal instructions at all times.
* Ensuring correct storage of aircraft components and tooling including blanking, labelling and protection in accordance with Company procedures.
* Maintaining standard engineering practices regarding general husbandry, workplace cleanliness and FOD prevention measures.
* Recommending improvements in working conditions, practices and procedures that may result in an improvement in safety, efficiency and productivity.
* Assisting with hangar facility maintenance and general tasks.
* Any other tasks and duties as reasonably required in accordance with the needs of the business.
* Responsible for working in accordance with the company framework and compliance with the organisation’s policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of the company.
Key requirements include:
* Must be eligible to live and work in the UK
* A minimum 5 years’ aviation maintenance experience within a Part 145 (or equivalent) organisation (this can include time served during an apprenticeship or similar recognised training).
* Minimum of 5 GCSE qualifications at grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English Language or an Aviation or Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship (or equivalent).
* Initial Human Factors, EWIS and Fuel Tank Safety.
* Ability to use recognised aircraft documentation, including the Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives.
* Demonstrates a broad skill-set in maintaining aircraft systems including rigging, component replacement and modification embodiment.
* Good structural knowledge, including ability to carry out structural repairs.
* Desired Qualifications and/or Training:
B1 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence -UK CAA AML or EASA AML issued pre 31/12/2020, or UK CAA AML & EASA AML issued post 31/12/2020.
Aircraft type course on any of the following: B737NG, B737CL, B757, B767, A320 family.
