We are seeking an experienced care worker who is looking for the next step in their career to support with office duties.
This is an exciting role that will enable you to grow your skills and knowledge of the care sector alongside the future plans for the branch. Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you'll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work.
You will provide support with day-to-day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting existing staff and service users to remain as independent as possible. As part of our office team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives and work.
Initially, this will be a part-time role of 10 hours per week, with the view to increase over time.
Responsibilities:
* Assist The Manager with the assessment and implementation of individual Client care plans undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of all Clients.
* Provide practical support and responsive care to Clients who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation.
* Observe and monitor the wellbeing of Clients ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to the correct health care professional and documented as appropriate.
* Contribute to a team approach to client care in conjunction with all members of the team.
* Carry out regular Spot checks, Carer supervisions as directed and other meetings as requested.
* Develop and maintain a good professional relationship with clients, colleagues and visitors responding promptly and courteously to requests and enquiries.
* Help promote and maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of the patient / relatives and carers.
* Ensure service users are gaining a quality service that is value for their money.
* To receive and convey information from telephone or personal enquiries in a courteous manner and ensure all persons visiting the branch are greeted and assisted in a welcoming and supportive manner.
* Support and train junior or new members of staff with their day-to-day work.
* Implement day-to-day information onto computer systems.
* Involvement in the day-to-day Rotas.
* Participation in the on-call phone on a rota basis.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature.
* Empathy, understanding and patience.
* Ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
* Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures.
* The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges.
* Competent in verbal and written English.
* Previous experience as a Care/Support worker in a similar service line.
* Healthcare qualifications are desirable but not essential.
* Willingness to enrol on Level 3 Health and social care qualification.
* To be considered for this role, we require you to have the right to work in the UK.
