The role …
What you'll do...
1. To profitably retain, develop and grow a defined portfolio of existing customer accounts in a defined corporate customer territory.
2. The field-based account manager role will typically have a small to medium volume of accounts, each with lower value than the field-based equivalent role, according to the value-based segmentation model.
3. Achieve/exceed business targets, expressed in terms of revenue, profit, volume, churn, customer satisfaction and customer contact.
4. Creation of an account/win plan for all re-sign and growth opportunities, demonstrating your own required actions and effective engagement of your virtual team, and ensuring your win ratio is at or above team average.
5. Develop effective, telephone and email-based relationships with customers, demonstrating your knowledge of their business and their decision-making process, and ensuring full delivery of the defined contact strategy for each account.
6. Conduct customer calls & dialogue which supports your retention and growth campaign, fronting all commercial & contractual activity, and accurately record all sales activity on the central CRM system.
7. Highlight all business at risk and ensure effective save plans are in place, using appropriate escalation routes.
8. Operate within published commercial and contractual guidelines, making effective use of escalation routes.
9. Act as an ambassador for Air Telecom both in the external market and within internal stakeholders, demonstrating best in class sales behaviour and delivering excellent customer experience results through end-to-end ownership of customer issues.
10. Comply with all elements of the corporate sales charter, and with all company policies and procedures.
11. Take responsibility for your own personal development and agree development plans with your line manager, to ensure you are fully conversant with the whole portfolio and can sell a value proposition.
What we are looking for:
1. Proven experience and success in telephone account management or telesales, generating growth and minimising churn in IT/Telecommunications or a business to business corporate market place.
2. Proven ability to develop and maintain an effective network of contacts and build relationships at all levels of the customer/prospect organisation.
3. Highly effective written and verbal communication skills, with specific telephone-based relationship management experience.
4. Developed sales skills - opening, questioning, objection handling and closing.
5. Ability to work on own initiative, designing solutions which respond to customer needs, and taking ownership for development and growth of your own customer base.
6. PC literate with email, Word, PowerPoint, CRM systems.
7. Knowledge of the IT/Telecommunications industry and buying processes.
8. Ability to create winning account plans and translate into tangible sales activities, successfully engaging virtual teams.
9. Commercial acumen which enables achievement of profitable growth and retention results.
10. Experience and knowledge of corporate and/or public sector organisations.
