YOUR NEW ROLE, WHATS INVOLVED?
* WSP is looking for Infrastructure Design Engineers at a range of grades, depending on experience, to join our industry-leading Intelligent Infrastructure team to design the next generation technology that will build the transport systems that everyone else is talking about.
* You will contribute to the capability of our Technology Infrastructure Design team, which designs electrical, electronic and communications infrastructure at telecommunications sites and at the roadside for government and civil engineering clients.
YOUR TEAM
Being part of a team utilising your previous experience and knowledge in designing technology roadside infrastructure.
* Undertaking design processes, including the use of design tools.
* Working with and leading colleagues as part of a team developing design processes and digital design techniques.
* Collaborating with other designers and WSP multi discipline teams to deliver high quality output to meet the client's expectations.
WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE
* Experience of design standards in UK roads technology design.
* Ability to collaborate successfully with clients and manage their expectations.
* Ability to undertake the role of engineer to successfully take a scheme from inception to handover with the client. This involves the management of tasks through the programme, reporting and understanding the financial spend (forecasts and actuals to date), leadership of colleagues assigned to the scheme and management of daily activities.
* Ability to motivate, develop and lead junior members of the team, encouraging individual growth and performance.
* Practical understanding of working with infrastructure design systems, which may include skills previously gained in Building Information Modelling systems, AutoCAD (or similar), ProjectWise and SharePoint.
* Experience in data management and modelling through asset data management and working in common data environment. Additional knowledge in associated systems would be of benefit.
* Theoretical and experienced application of infrastructure design, with strong team communications and attention to detail always required.
* Ability to problem-solve and be self-motivated when undertaking specific tasks with minimal support from peers.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Degree in a systems or electronic engineering discipline or computer science, or equivalent industry experience essential.
* Professional registration with an accredited institute preferred. However, if you are currently on a route to professional registration, then you will be fully supported through the provision of a mentor and Professional Registration Advisors to take you through the registration process and achieve the status of a Chartered Engineer.
