The Role
As an Electrical Calibration Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Your responsibilities will include the calibration, diagnosis, and repair of Safety and Test and Measuring Equipment (T&ME) and Nucleonic Radiation Detection & Monitoring Equipment (RDME).
Day-to-day, you'll use approved quality systems to ensure the requirements of the Trident Strategic Weapon System (SWS), nuclear operations, and other non-strategic customers are met.
* Comply with health and safety legislation, policies, and standards.
* Validate procedures and analyze the effects of new and amended procedures.
* Write paper document and software calibration procedures for new equipment and generate calibration checklists for new/different models to meet SWPT and departmental requirements.
* Take a lead role in a team of calibration officers and participate in measurement audits as part of the US/UK Inter Laboratory Comparison Programme (ILCP) to ensure the facility's future parameter re-certification.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week Monday - Friday with a half day on Friday and is based on-site at Faslane.
Essential Experience
* Working knowledge of electrical instrumentation and calibration procedures.
* Experience with use and commissioning of electrical equipment.
* Able to work as part of a fast-paced larger team.
* IT/Database literate.
Qualifications
* HNC/Completed Apprenticeship in an Electrical Discipline.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
