SRM are preparing for the commencement of a major programme of construction works in Port Talbot, South Wales. The works to be undertaken will involve heavy construction/ civil engineering works across a variety of industrial work fronts over the next 3 to 4 years, commencing initially with a series of enabling works ahead of the main programme of works commencing Q3 : 2025.

If you are a Civil Engineer with experience working on large multi-million-pound multi-disciplinary projects, we have a great opportunity for you to join our Team in Port Talbot to work on an interesting, complex and technically challenging project. The project value will be in excess of £200m and will be undertaken under an NEC form of contract.

The Civil Engineer role
\n
You'll be responsible for assisting the with the design/ buildability, coordination and management of a number of works contractors employed in a variety of trades within the respective area of works.
\n
The role requires a high level of interfacing between internal departments and external agencies, such as Engineers, Construction Workers, Works Contractors, Client Representatives, Clerk of Works and Site Staff. Co-ordination and management of various Works Contractors will be key to ensuring the success of the project.
\n
You'll also organise and conduct regular site progress meetings with various works contractors to monitor progress, quality and safety, ensuring the Chief Engineer and Project Manager are updated on all issues.

Key packages / areas of works will be Earthworks & Substructures with a focus on setting out.
\n
Ideally you will;
\n
\n
* Main contractor construction experience
\n
* Have a degree in civil engineering or heavy construction engineering
\n
* Must be a Team Player
\n
* Must be hands on and with a “can do attitude”
\n
\n
\n
* Will be site-based working as a key project team member
\n
* IT Proficiency a must
\n
\n
\n
* Have the ability to prepare a 3 week look-ahead programme with assistance of project planner
\n
* Have proven working experience on a construction site environment
\n
* Be knowledgeable of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
\n
* Have or be working working towards a construction industry related Professional membership (e.g ICE, CIOB, RICS, ICE, CIBSE, IStructE, etc)
\n
* Ideally located in South Wales within daily travelling distance of Port Talbot.
