About The Role
Here at Kisimul we're dedicated to improving the lives of the children with Autism and learning difficulties that we support every day.
We're excited to be opening a brand new Children's Home called 'Clann Dion' - a beautiful home located in Rand, just outside of Wragby, LN8.
As a Support Worker/ Life Practitioner, you'll be an integral part of the team, teaching young people life skills in context and supporting them to integrate these skills. We'll give you all the training you'll need. You'll contribute to and promote the development of young peoples' communication, self-help, and independence skills - undertaking actions devised by other specialist colleagues, such as speech therapists and educational psychologists and providing feedback on sessions. Plus, support individuals with maintaining and improving their health and supporting emotional needs, always promoting increased independence. Support Workers participate in a wide range of innovative and exciting recreational activities such as trips to the Safari Park, fun fairs, or local restaurants.
We offer flexible hours to suit your family life.
Days - 40hrs per week. Shifts either 5 x 8 hour shifts or 4 x 10 hour shifts (between 7.30am and finishing at 8.30pm). Part-Time shifts also available. Days/hours to be agreed with Manager.
We'll pay and support you to learn new skills and to pass your care diploma.
About You
What experience and qualifications do you need:
* A genuine passion for care and to be motivated by contributing to the progression of others.
* A strong team player.
* Resilience to keep going at difficult times and to ask for support if needed.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Computer literacy.
* A Diploma Level 3 in Young People's Workforce (or equivalent) or a willingness to complete this qualification within a fixed timeframe.
