Job Overview:
We are looking for a Food Safety Manager, Core to join our Regulatory Compliance team based in London. The successful candidate will play a critical role in helping the business manage its risk in relation to food safety compliance across 10 markets in a rapidly evolving industry.
You will report to the Head of Ethics, Compliance & Insurance and be overseen on a day-to-day basis by the Deputy Head of Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance. You will work closely with other senior stakeholders across Legal, Policy, Product, Care, and Operations to implement the right compliance policies and risk mitigation measures for various business initiatives. This role will support our ‘Core’ food delivery business covering restaurants and grocery partners, ranging from global brands to small, independent local gems.
This role is based out of our London office; you will need to be on-site 3 days a week.
What you'll do:
* Build relationships of trust to collaborate with stakeholders across our business to manage food safety risk.
* Focus on metrics that allow us to monitor trends and patterns across compliance processes to help detect and remediate issues.
* Support the maintenance and development of our partner and rider-facing policies and processes to mitigate business risks.
* Provide high-quality, risk-based advice on food safety matters in a complex regulatory environment.
* Support food safety compliance due diligence processes across multiple markets and develop creative solutions to manage compliance.

Your daily and monthly responsibilities will include:
* Risk assessment and mitigation: Work within existing risk assessments and control maturity assessments to measure progress and drive remediation plans.
* Risk monitoring: Support the implementation of systems to monitor adherence to policies and ensure measures to mitigate identified risks remain effective.
* Monitor trends for continuous improvement: Identify trends through partner and customer feedback to improve policies and risk management.
* Policies and processes: Support the development and maintenance of robust food safety policies and implement best practice protocols.
* Legislative/regulatory horizon scanning: Work closely with Legal and Policy teams to ensure compliance with local, national, and international laws.
* Collaborating with in-house Legal colleagues: Understand legislative and regulatory requirements across markets and ensure compliance strategy aligns with broader legal strategies.
* Product development support: Review and advise on new product features and marketing promotions.
* Regulatory requests & investigation support: Serve as a contact with our UK Primary Authority on food safety matters.
* Recalls: Support the product recall process and provide guidance on execution.
* Training & culture: Promote a culture of food safety across the business and deliver internal training on key compliance issues.
What do you need to bring to the table?
* 5+ years experience with food safety compliance and a formal food safety qualification.
* Experience managing food safety risks across multiple food product categories and, ideally, multiple countries.
* Experience working with technical/product development teams in a collaborative manner.
* Good knowledge of UK and EU food safety regulatory frameworks.
* Experience promoting food safety across businesses and using data to improve policies and procedures.
