With 4 sites across the UK, Goodfish Group is looking for a Quality Engineer, to work within our New Product Introduction (NPI) team based at our Cannock site. With your experience within quality you will support our NPI Team on a wide range of projects including those for the automotive sector.
You should have an understanding of the various quality controls and procedures involved in the automotive world, as well as an ability to project manage the job through a number of technical and QA stages to SOP.

Outputs
Fundamentally this role is about taking a hands on approach as the quality expert in a project team, to ensure minimum quality related risks to new projects.
* Manage the quality aspects of new projects, ensuring the smooth transition of new products
* Develop professional working relationships with our customers, including dynamic problem solving throughout each project
* Lead the PPAP process for new product introduction
* Gather information, complete, and submit for approval PPAPs (incl APQPs, PFMEAs)
* Complete measurement of parts during the NPI process using the CMM/Scanner
* Programme the Hexagon metrology machine (CMM/Scanner) to measure a variety of new parts as new projects come on board
* Aid with prototype and pre-production manufacturing runs to identify and implement new processes and resolve any quality concerns
* Promote lean manufacturing/continuous improvement tools where needed during the project process
* Suggest, and implement, continuous improvement ideas, from a quality perspective for our NPI projects
* Identify and support procurement of new tools required for new projects/production
Personal
* Has worked in a similar role in the automotive or aerospace industry
* Ability to lead the PPAP process and complete the process yourself, from end to end is essential
* Ideally trained in the 5 automotive quality core tools:
o Part Approval Process (PPAP)
o Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
o Statistical Process Control (SPC)
o Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
o Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
* Experience of working in plastic injection moulding is desirable, although training can be provided
* Demonstrable automotive project management experience would be an advantage
* Be able to use a variety of measuring equipment including; micrometer, vernier and CMM
* Ability to write CMM programs is essential
* Lean manufacturing experience would be advantageous
* Have an eye for detail and a problem solving mindset
* Ability to communicate well at all levels including customers

Hours
This is a day role where you will work at least 40 hours per week Mon-Fri. A flexible approach to working additional hours, possibly on evenings or occasional weekends is requested.
