Job Description:
The Opportunity
We have a fantastic new opportunity for an Early Careers Business Partner. Based from our Basildon site (with monthly travel to our Southampton site) you will report to the VP HR for the Integrated Sensing and Protection line of business, deliver the established provision of numerous Apprenticeship routes, support development of early career pipelines and pastoral care for Early Careers trainees.
What you will do as an Early Careers Business Partner:
1. Provide line management supervision to Apprentices for the duration of their programme, being the site contact point for all Early Careers issues, pastoral care and enquiries. For Apprentices delivering quarterly reviews, placement plans, and supporting disciplinary/capability situations.
2. Develop a learning culture and environment that supports development of Apprentices’ skills, knowledge and careers and provides clear guidance and advice to internal stakeholders.
3. Work closely with Training Providers to monitor and deliver attendance, progress, performance and assessment of Apprentices on programme, providing coaching and development on a one to one basis, ensuring protected learning is in place.
4. Organise and lead site-based/local Apprentice Governance Group meetings and facilitate monthly Early Careers forums.
5. Manage and maintain learner data, tracking progress, supporting self-assessment, quality audits and evaluation activities as required, meeting all regulatory requirements and ensuring all documentation and record keeping meets the required standards.
6. Support business planning activities including establishing new trainee pipelines and Early Careers recruitment by attending recruitment events, undertaking candidate assessment and interviews, delivering Apprentice onboarding and induction.
What we will need from you:
1. Demonstrate practical experience of developing and delivering early careers/trainee programmes and delivering specialist advice.
2. Sound knowledge of Apprenticeship framework requirements and funding streams/systems and compliance/regulatory requirements.
3. Demonstrable knowledge of current Skills coaching techniques and Safeguarding & Prevent legislation.
4. Proven ability to work with varied internal and external stakeholders across a matrix structure.
5. Able to work autonomously.
6. Flexible, adaptable and ability to work effectively within a team.
7. Gain general understanding of the business area and recruitment principles.
