Job Title: Training & Development Manager
Brook Street is working with our client in Belfast to recruit a full-time and permanent Training & Development Manager.
Our client is an award-winning social enterprise delivering services across Northern Ireland, supporting people with learning difficulties, autism, and neurodiverse conditions into future employment.
The Training & Development Manager will oversee contract management and deliver high-quality training to support participants' progression towards employment. A key aspect of the role is to connect skills development with employability outcomes, ensuring tailored services that meet individual needs and aspirations.
The post holder will manage training aspects of various contracts, lead income generation efforts for the department, and oversee the delivery of training courses.
Main Duties
1. Manage training services to align with strategic and operational plans, fulfilling stakeholder needs.
2. Develop a range of academies and courses aligned with the skills agenda, addressing labor market shortages, and engaging with employers.
3. Conduct regular scoping activities with the employment team to identify trends, match training to employment opportunities, and support participant aspirations.
4. Line manage skills trainers and associate trainers, including work allocation, training, performance evaluation, and problem resolution.
5. Lead funding applications and tender opportunities, developing innovative delivery models and best practices.
6. Engage with service users to incorporate their feedback into service and training development.
7. Collaborate with the Marketing team on engagement activities, including events, communication strategies, and social media.
8. Assist in staff recruitment, selection, and management during induction and probation.
9. Produce monitoring reports on progress against targets for internal and external stakeholders.
10. Hold a full current driving license and access to a car; alternative travel arrangements will be considered for applicants with disabilities.
11. Maintain flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
12. Meet minimum qualifications: Level 2 in English and Math, UU Certificate in Teaching or equivalent.
13. Possess at least 2 years of experience delivering training to young people or adults with barriers to learning.
14. Have at least 1 year of experience managing a team or training contracts.
15. Experience in securing funding, grants, tenders, or government contracts for at least 1 year.
16. Experience developing courses for accreditation and working with awarding bodies.
17. Possess excellent IT, communication, and public speaking skills.
18. At least 2 years of experience leading ETI inspections, self-evaluation, and quality improvement processes.
19. Experience managing the delivery of Essential Skills courses.
20. Hold an internal verifier, external verifier, or assessor qualification.
