As directed by the Patient Pathway Coordinators ensure a full administration service is provided within the various services of Ophthalmology. This may include providing basic cover for the Patient Pathway Coordinators during periods of sickness, annual leave or workload increases. To collect health records as required from the Medical Records Libraries or elsewhere in the hospital and to assist with the preparation and pulling of clinic notes. To respond to queries relating to health records, either by telephone or in person and to ensure all health records are tracked using EPR thereby maintaining an accurate location of all records. To assist with the filing and scanning of patient correspondence. To escalate stationary requirements within the department. To open and date stamp the departmental post and distribute appropriately, ensuring urgent referrals are brought to the attention of the secretarial or Outpatient Booking team Patient Pathway Coordinators. To assist the Patient Pathway Coordinators with the use of electronic transcription and Medisoft as and when required, ensuring that the Trust 7 day (or 48 hours for oncology letters) turnaround is met. To communicate effectively using good verbal and written skills and to deal with all enquiries in a sympathetic and professional manner in line with Trust Values.
