Materials Controller Required Would you like to make a difference? Are you looking to take a step up from your current Stores role? If YES, then this opportunity may be for you. Due to internal staff movements, we are looking for a skilled/experienced Materials Controller to start at the end of January, early February 2025. This would allow for an informal handover of the reigns and provide time for the new Materials Controller to get settled and enjoy a comfortable introduction to the business. Based in Leeds, this role will start on a 2-week, day shift to allow for induction and familiarisation before progressing to a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, 07.00 - 19.00 and 10.00 - 22.00. There may be a future change to 2days, 2 nights, 4 off so anyone applying for this opportunity should be prepared to work nights Working in a Locomotive Maintenance Depot has its own excitement but requires the successful candidates to have a healthy appreciation for Health and Safety. With these in mind, the key responsibilities are: Core Responsibilities 1. Day to Day processing of all Material functions at the VMF including but not exclusive to issuing components to vehicles in both physical form and in AMS, consumable stock checks, ordering fuel and PPE checks. 2. Receiving Goods In as required. Ensure all goods are receipted in both AMS and eProcurement. 3. Manage all Materials requests from other Depots for Material, including the booking of couriers and transferring of material on AMS as required. 4. Repairable & Core material processing, including all paperwork required for Suppliers. 5. Participate in quarterly stock counts including physical counts and administration tasks. 6. Liaise with suppliers as required. 7. Any other Ad Hoc tasks as requested. Experience and Knowledge Required Experience in a Materials role in an engineering environment Strong communication skills Good AMS and eProcurement system knowledge and understanding Understanding of Business UK Purchasing Policy Qualifications and Training AMS Internal training Business Ethics Training This role offers an attractive starting salary of £29,539.00 whilst under probation, rising to £30,426.00 on successful completion of probation.
