Special Needs Teaching Assistants
Axcis Education is helping a special needs school in Chippenham that is looking for full-time teaching assistants for long-term opportunities, preferably starting ASAP. Working hours are 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, and term time only.
This school caters mostly to primary-aged children but officially teaches children from as young as 5 all the way through to post-16. Children come with a wide range of disabilities, from autism and complex needs to cerebral palsy and severe learning disabilities.
The school has a great team already in place and fosters a warm and friendly environment for both staff and students. We are looking for individuals with significant special needs experience, which can come from either working in a school or a care background. Patience, resilience, and empathy are essential. Ideally, we are looking for people who are comfortable with personal care, as many children will need assistance.
The school has a great open-door policy for staff from agencies to sit in on training that happens almost weekly, providing excellent opportunities to upskill and learn.
To be considered, you will need to hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one as part of your application.
