AWS Solutions Architect
Location: Hybrid 1 day a week in Solihull (first 3 months will be 2/3 days in office)
Salary: Up to £100k for the right person
Our client, a leading Proptech start-up, is looking for 2 x AWS Solutions Architects. The person will ideally have come from a small team, have been in a hands-on position as opposed to having worked for large organisations due to the difference in the way they operate.
This position offers a unique blend of professional growth, collaborative culture, and cutting-edge technology. As an AWS Solutions Architect, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing robust cloud solutions, ensuring the resilience and efficiency of architectural practices.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Enhance the resilience and redundancy of current architecture.
2. Provide architectural design and support to engineering teams, adhering to best practices.
3. Implement improvements to both current and proposed architectural practices.
4. Develop, publish, and promote architectural policies and standards.
5. Ensure compliance with IT strategy, policies, and standards across all projects.
6. Document architectural designs and decisions for project work.
7. Support and guide software engineers in implementing cloud best practices.
Skills & Experience Required:
1. Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with all business stakeholders.
2. In-depth knowledge of AWS network, core, and serverless services (AWS certifications preferred).
3. Understanding of the Well-Architected Framework and security infrastructure best practices.
4. Hands-on experience in architecting, designing, and developing cloud solutions.
5. Strong grasp of architectural patterns.
6. Ability to translate business requirements to development teams and interpret technical feedback.
Your Journey to Success:
1. Within 1 Month: Familiarise yourself with AWS services and existing architectures, participate in initial solution designs, and integrate with engineering teams.
2. Within 3 Months: Embed into the Desktop Development team, take on significant project roles, and contribute to documentation and best practices.
3. Within 6 Months: Lead larger-scale projects, contribute to strategic planning for AWS adoption, and deepen your AWS expertise.
