Highway Manager - Transport Strategy
We are currently assisting one of our clients based in East Yorkshire to find an experienced and available Highway Manager - Transport Strategy.
Main Duties:
1. Lead the development and implementation of transport strategies, including the Local Transport Plan and Walking Cycling Infrastructure Plan.
2. Manage early-stage scheme development, ensuring pre-business case justification aligns with strategic goals.
3. Provide oversight on transport modelling assessments, guiding their interpretation and application.
4. Oversee strategic planning and development control efforts, leading large-scale development schemes.
5. Contribute to local planning by integrating transport strategies into the Local Plan and supplementary designs.
6. Support and manage a team, offering hands-on assistance to meet project demands.
7. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, ensuring alignment and collaboration in service delivery.
8. Maintain accurate records of projects and updates on transport strategy progress.
9. Monitor performance and provide recommendations for improvements based on analysis of transport initiatives.
What You Will Need to Succeed:
1. Proven experience in developing and delivering transport strategies.
2. Strong understanding of strategic planning and early-stage transport scheme development.
3. Knowledge of transport modelling assessments and their applications.
4. Leadership experience in managing large development control schemes is advantageous.
5. Familiarity with integrating transport strategies into local planning documents.
6. Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with various stakeholders.
7. Sound engineering knowledge of highway maintenance and transport infrastructure.
8. Understanding of relevant legislation, including the Highways Act and associated policies.
9. Previous experience in a highways or transport planning role is essential for this position.
