About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging Computer Science lessons across a range of grade levels (equivalent to UK Key Stages 3-5), potentially including internationally recognized qualifications such as the IB Diploma Programme or Advanced Placement (AP) Computer Science. Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that incorporate coding projects, problem-solving activities, and real-world applications of computer science principles. Assess student progress through coding assignments, projects, presentations, and examinations, providing detailed and constructive feedback. Foster a passion for computer science and technology through engaging teaching and the promotion of extracurricular activities such as coding clubs, robotics, or cyber security initiatives. Contribute to the development of the computer science curriculum and collaborate with colleagues within the Technology department. Keep abreast of developments in computer science and educational technology. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification recognized internationally. A strong academic background in Computer Science or a closely related field. Experience teaching Computer Science at the secondary level, ideally with experience in an international curriculum such as the IB DP or AP. A strong understanding of computer science principles, programming languages (e.g., Python, Java), and current technologies. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a diverse student body.
